4 arrested in EJH kidnapping case

 JOWAI: Ladrymbai Police on Monday night arrested four persons allegedly involved in the abduction of the 18-year-old student of Good Shepherd Secondary School, Ladrymbai, Krishna Sah on Friday last.

A country-made revolver (.32mm) was also seized from one of the accused, Pradip Thapa (22).

The other three accused have been identified as Raj Rai (27), Morbu Lama (26) and Biju Rai (21) and sources informed that a fifth accused is still absconding.

However, despite the arrests, Sah remains untraced.

In what was a case of mistaken identity, the kidnappers had initially demanded a ransom of Rs 30 lakh from Mohan Sah, the victim’s father, who is a milkman.

Sources informed that the accused who is absconding made another call on Tuesday reducing the

ransom money Rs. 1.50 lakh.

“Realizing that the father is only a milkman, the kidnappers have come down to Rs. 1.50 lakh only”, a police source said.

Sources informed that the Tata Sumo in which the boy was being kidnapped broke down on reaching Jalaphet village following which the kidnappers took the victim to Assam.
