SHILLONG: The State Crime Investigation department is on the hunt to trace the Chancellor of CMJ University, Chandra Mohan Jha, who is still camping somewhere in Bihar after the Governor’s directive on CMJ anomalies on April 30.

Eight days after the Governor hauled up the CMJ University for various irregularities, the whereabouts of the Chancellor is still unknown.

As per the statement of the Deputy Registrar of the University, Jha was scheduled to arrive in the city on Monday.

However when contacted on Tuesday, the Deputy Registrar asserted that Jha has not yet reached Shillong and he has no knowledge of when he (Jha) would return to Shillong.

The Deputy Registrar also said that the CID has neither questioned him nor the Vice Chancellor.

When contacted, IGP (CID), BR Rana refused to divulge any details of the investigation.
