SHILLONG: The KSU on Thursday called off the proposed night road blockade scheduled on May 10 and 11, even as maintaining that the Union would not interfere with the procedure of the court in connection with the case against their two leaders.

“We have decided to call off our agitation after two of our members got bail from the court on Wednesday,” KSU president Daniel Khyriem told reporters after their meeting here on Thursday.

The two KSU leaders – Johny Lyngdoh and Teiborlang Nongbri – who had been arrested last week for their involvement in the April 4 vandalism in the city were released on bail by a city court.

Khyriem also stated that the Union would wait for the final verdict of the court on the charges against the two KSU leaders.

To a query, the KSU president said that he was not aware if there was any dirty political ploy against the Union.
