SHILLONG: The people of Nongstoin have been left helpless since last week after the State Bank Of India, Nongstoin branch stopped functioning effectively due to the connectivity problem emerging in the BSNL Landline.

The people have complained that for the past one week, they have been constantly coming to town from far off villages to either deposit or withdraw money but to no avail as all the works relating to the bank was disrupted due to the problem in the connectivity which has not been rectified till date. Following such complaints, the KSU has asked the SBI and the BSNL to immediately take action and rectify the problem as soon as possible for the benefit of the people living in far flung villages.
