New Delhi: Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh should also go following the resignation of two cabinet ministers, BJP president Rajnath Singh said on Saturday.

He told the media here that the country needed a new government. “There is no alternative other that a new government,” he said.

The BJP leader said if the prime minister introspects, he would have no option but to resign.

“Two ministers resigned yesterday. The question is not of one or two ministers, whatever has been going on has put a question mark on the whole administrative process.

“If the prime minister introspects, there is no option for him but to resign,” he said.

Pawan Kumar Bansal and Ashwani Kumar Friday resigned as railway and law ministers following allegations of corruption and impropriety.

Central government flayed: Meanwhile, coming down heavily on the Congress-led government at the Centre and the state, newly-elected BJP’s Maharashtra chief Devendra Fadnavis has declared that money and muscle power cannot always win elections.

Addressing his first public meeting at Palghar in Thane district , he released a book on the journey of Dahanu-Curchgate local, written by senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Ram Naik.

It was first visit of Fadnavis to Thane district, where he was given a tumultuous welcome by the BJP functionaries, who took him to the venue of the meeting.

He said the entire country and state was reeling under extreme problems due to the rampant corruption, law and order issues and unemployment.

Fadnavis said the time has now come for the citizens to tame the elephant, which has gone wild and push it to the ground.

He highlighted the failures of the Congress government and the achievements of the BJP-ruled states and said that the order of the day in the country were problems and problems and nothing more. (Agencies)
