SHILLONG: The FKJGP has urged the court to deny further extension to the High Level Scrutiny Committee (HLSC) which is probing into the irregularities over the appointment of the assistant teachers in the Government Lower Primary Schools.
The hearing on the case is scheduled for Monday and there are reports that the State Government through its Additional Advocate General SP Mahanta would seek another extension for the HLSC to complete its report.
“The Government is adopting a delay tactics since CBI in its report had named former Education Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh as the main accused in the irregularities in appointment of the assistant teachers,” FKJGP president Jo Marwein said in a statement issued here on Sunday.
Slamming the former Education Minister, Marwein said that “being a teacher herself, it is shocking to see that she (Ampareen) has played with the future of the thousands of young students by appointing unqualified people.”
“The Government is delaying the inquiry since politicians and bureaucrats are involved in this scam,” the statement said while demanding stern action against those involved in the case.
