4 KSU members involved in torching of Govt vehicle surrender

 SHILLONG: Fourteen days after a government vehicle (Bolero- ML 01 6113) allotted to Divisional Forest Officer, R Nainama Mallai, was torched at Forest Colony, four KSU members on Tuesday surrendered before the police.

The four persons – KSU Mawlai Nonglum unit sports secretary Beneslaus Khyriem alias Malos (21), KSU Nongkwar unit president Biangbor Lyngdoh Paliar (29), KSU Mawlai Phudmuri unit assistant organiser Rapborlang Nongrum (27) and ex-member of KSU Mawdatbaki unit Kitboklang Khongwar alias Kit (20) – surrendered before East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police accompanied by the executive members of the KSU central body.

All the four were wanted in connection with the arson case.

The four were released on bail on Tuesday itself as they had been booked under bailable sections of the law, police sources informed.
