Suicide

In one suicide case, a person identified as Raju Sharma lost his life after he hanged himself with his waist belt at his residence at Nongmynsong near Presbyterian Church at around 5-6 pm here on Saturday.

Misappropriation of funds

Isaac K Marak, the BDO of Songsak lodged a complaint (May 16) that Prestone Marak, president and Jaran Sangma, Secretary of Sokadam Balading VEC, have withdrawn money under MGNREGS for road construction in the village. However, they failed to execute the work, till date.

Theft

lOn May 13 night, unknown miscreants stole one laptop computer from a tea-stall belonging to one Pratima Sharma at Tamulkuchi village (RB).

lOn the night of May 9, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-08B-9615) belonging to one Firstbirth Momin from his residence at Bolsaldam, Resubelpara (NGH).

Arrest

On May 6 around 9 pm, when the East Jaintia Hills police conducted a raid at a house of one Raj Rai at Datsimpein, Lad-Rymbai on suspicions that the persons involved in the kidnapping of one Krishna Sah are taking shelter in the house of Rai, police recovered one country-made revolver with four rounds of 7.65mm live ammunition from the house. In this connection, the house owner was arrested.
