SHILLONG: The ANVC-B has denied the allegation of the United A’chik Liberation Army (UALA) commander-in-chief’ Norrok X Momin that Police in East Garo Hills District had handed over three sophisticated weapons to the organization to take on the banned GNLA.
ANVC-B leader Rimpu Marak on Sunday said that Norok’s allegation is intended to disturb the settlement process and peaceful solution to Garo demands.
According to Marak, Norrok is a dummy used by vested interest groups who do want peace in the State.
Norrok had alleged that the then Circle Inspector of Williamnagar, TC Chacko, had handed over two AK-56 and one AK-47 rifle to Rimpu Marak when he was part of the ANVC.
However, according to ANVC-B, Norrok has bitter feelings for T C Chacko who had arrested the former at Rongjeng.
“Norrok himself told me and asked my consent to take revenge on many police officers especially those who arrested him including SP Jerry but I did not allow that,” Marak said.
