SHILLONG: Yet again, suspected GNLA militants have threatened to kill Congress legislator Limison Sangma if he does not pay an amount of Rs 2 lakh as damage for defaming the militant outfit.

Earlier on May 12, the self styled GNLA area commander, Rang Dat, sent a text message to the legislator asking him to pay Rs 5 lakh by May 14, failing which the militant threatened to kill him. Later, the deadline to pay the amount was extended till May 18.

However, the GNLA had denied its role in sending the text message to Sangma.

But the legislator, through a statement to the press, has maintained that it was GNLA cadre Rang Dat who had sent the text message to him.

Annoyed over revealing the name of the cadre, PD Shira, the self styled area commander of GNLA North Zone sent a new text message to the legislator threatening him with death penalty for defaming the name of the militant outfit and its cadre Rang Dat.
