Meeting
The Sarada Sangha, Shillong has arranged a public meeting on May 26 at 4 p.m in the Ramakrishna Mission premises, Laitumkhrah, in honour of Marufi Khan, who has arrived from Bangladesh and consented to deliver a speech on the Holy Mother Sri Sarada.
Programme
The Martin Luther Christian University, Nongtalang Campus took the initiative to conduct the ‘Career Guidance Programme”, themed “Your choice, your future’ from May 7 to 8. This programme was conducted in two locations namely at Khasi-Pnar Secondary School, Bakur Dawki and Sohkha Government Higher Secondary School, Sohkha.
Career guidance
The P A Sangma Foundation, Meghalaya State Branch, Shillong in collaboration with the KSU Sawsymper Circle organized a Career Guidance Programme at Pongkung village, East Khasi Hills District on May 24. This is the third program of its kind organized by the foundation as part of its IGNITE YOUNG MINDS Career Guidance Program Series 2013.
Free service
Maruti Suzuki India Limited, (MSIL) will organize a first of its kind “Beat the Heat” campaign at its 3,000 service workshops across India. Services will include, free check up of air-conditioner, free top wash, True Value evaluation and exchange. The camps will be held on May 25 and 26 across the country.
Music
Art of Living Shillong chapter will organize “An evening of divine music “ by Chitra Roy at Sri Aurobindo Institute of cultural heritage on May 25 at 5 PM. Chitra Roy is an eminent singer, lyricist and composer par excellence and has been associated with The Art Of Living foundation for more than 20 years.
Competition
The Dr Ambedkar Foundation, an autonomous body of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India has invited essay entries for the ‘Dr Ambedkar Foundation National Essay Competition 2013’ from students of recognized schools and colleges/ universities and institutions.
Quiz
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched an all-India Inter-school RBI Quiz—its new initiative at promoting financial literacy at school level. The competition will be for students of class 9, 10, 11 and 12. The competition in Shillong is scheduled to be held on June 24 from 9:30 am onwards till 12:30pm at St Edmund’s College Auditorium.
