One crushed to death in city

SHILLONG: An unidentified person aged between 40 to 42 years was killed on the spot after he was hit by a limestone laden truck (ML05 E 4695) near 101 Area, Upper Shillong, on Friday evening.

Police informed that the truck coming from Sohra hit the deceased and then the wheels of the truck ran over his head killing him on the spot.

Details are awaited but police have said that the victim might have been intoxicated.

Police also informed that the driver of the truck had surrendered immediately after the accident.
