Pabuni festival held

 AMPATI: The Pabuni Festival of the Koch community was on Saturday held with much pomp and gaiety at Chengabenga, Gandhipara in Southwest Garo Hills.

The Pabuni festival is celebrated every year at the same venue to preserve the cultural heritage of the Koch community. The festival is marked by the Pabuni Wai puja wherein their deity is invoked followed by the Koch traditional dance. The highlight of the day long Pabuni festival are a series of cultural programmes participated by old and young alike.
