NONGSTOIN: Five dacoits, Sengkan Sangma, Sanu G.Momin, Bung D.Sangma, Glad D.Marak and Tengbird R.Marak of Nongshram were arrested by the Shallang Police on Monday. Sources said that the five miscreants were arrested at Nongdaju, 10 Km from Shallang at around 6.PM. The dacoits were reportedly involved in several looting cases in Shallang area.
Meanwhile, Tura Police on Monday evening arrested four hardcore dacoits from 12th Mile, Tura in West Garo Hills and seized several weapons from them including pistols, magazines and ammunition.
The gang members, identified as Amar Thapa, Sengseng N. Sangma, Setu Sangma and But Marak, were apprehended along with two 7.62 mm pistols, two magazines and ten rounds of ammunition. Police further informed that on enquiry, it was found out that the same accused persons were also involved in killing of one unidentified abducted person.
