SHILLONG: ANVC (B) cadres led by their chairman Rimpu Marak on Wednesday donated blood in the blood bank of Tura Civil Hospital

Rimpu was the first to volunteer for the blood donation followed by several officers and cadres of the militant outfit.

According to the ANVC-B, the group participated in this act as a solemn gesture towards the sick and the poor who were awaiting supply of blood to the blood bank.

“Most of the cadres were touched by the flow of patients who approached the blood bank while cadres were donating blood. We realized that so many people were in urgent need of blood,” Rimpu said.

The outfit said the blood donation campaign on Wednesday was the first phase and they would participate in similar campaigns in the coming days keeping in mind the needs of the people.

The outfit also thanked the doctors and others who assisted the cadres in the blood donation campaign.
