MeECL casual employees seek fulfillment of demands

 SHILLONG: The casual employees of the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL) from all the districts of Meghalaya on Wednesday sought the attention of the Board of Directors with regards to some of their demands which included regularization of the casuals besides others.

Announcing the decision to place their last request before the board of directors at a general meeting of all the casual employees of MeECL held recently, the casuals have also asked the authorities to send their response within June 3.

Besides regularization of all the casuals working under the MeECL from all over the State, the other demands included enhancement of the salary from the present Rs.140 per day for skilled and Rs.100 per for unskilled.

They also demanded for provision of Medical Reimbursement to all casual to meet stern realities of poor health condition and also to considered for the grant of Children Education Allowance and to declare the results of the Jugali’s (helpers) which are still pending and have not been declared.
