Assault
On May 29 afternoon, the occupants of one Maruti Swift Dezire (ML-05-3773) dashed against another Maruti car (ML-05D-5150) driven by Raju Rai at Mawlai, Shillong and assaulted him and forcibly took away the documents of the vehicle.
Kidnap bid
Pinky Dey lodged a complaint at Rynjah police station that on May 28 at around 4 pm, one Amir Uddin Mazumdar, driver of Maruti car (ML-05D-9684), misbehaved with her at Pohkseh, Shillong, wrongfully restrained and also attempted to kidnap her.
Theft
lOn May 28 night, miscreants broke into the District Horticulture Office at Hawakhana, Tura and stole three computer monitors, two UPS and office documents.
lOn May 24 at around 6.30 pm, two persons, Komingstar Mylliem and Banteibok Mylliem assaulted Saitstar Snaitang and also looted Rs. 10,000 from him at Mawsain (SWKH).
lOn May 13 at around 2 pm, Banshemphang Snaitang stole one motorcycle (ML-05E-1650) belonging to one Beldinus Kharbani from Sangriang (WKH).
lOn May 27 night, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-08C-1377) belonging to Rikrak Ch. Sangma from Akonggre, Tura (WGH).
lOn May 23, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-08C-7351) belonging to one Ringrang D. Shira from Petra Ading, New Tura (WGH).
Threat
On May 28, one Shio Midan Sangma armed with a sharp weapon, went to the residence of Kujin Sangma at Nogorpara (SWGH) and threatened him with dire consequences.
Extortion
Arusha M. Sangma lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah police station that on May 26, she received a telephone call from one Kumal Ch. Momin who demanded Rs.5 lakh from her. The caller also threatened to kidnap and kill her family members, if she failed to fulfill his demand.
Arrest
lNongstoin Police on May 29 arrested Wanshemphang Snaitang of Kulang Village in West Khasi Hills District. Police alleged that Shemphang was involved in a stolen bike case. Nongstoin Police have registered a Police case No 36 (05)13 of 379 IPC in this regard.
lOne Polindar Wanniang of Pyndengrei Village in Nongstoin was arrested by the Nongstoin Police for being involved in a rape case. A police case No 42 (06)05 of 376 IPC has been registered against him.
Coal labourers assaulted
Jawan Pde lodged a complaint at Jowai police station that on May 19 at around 12.30 am, miscreants went to his labour camp and assaulted five labourers Ansoma Lalung, Kanju Lalung, Kala Boro, Narian Bordoloi and Mohendro Deka. As a result, Narian Bordoloi and Mohendro Deka sustained injuries and were removed to Civil Hospital, Jowai. The miscreants also looted three cell-phones and Rs. 34,000 from the labourers.
