NONGPOH: In a nefarious attempt to shield his misdeeds of misappropriation of government schemes, Selukos Shadap and his wife Bahunlang Rympei took to defaming the Mawrong Dorbar Shnong (MDS) of ostracizing him and his family on allegation of witchcraft and also of dismantling his residence in the village to which the MDS has dismissed as an outrageous allegation and act of tarnishing them and the village as whole.
Ironically, Shadap even managed to get the patronage of the CSWO (Agnes) and the HNYF Northern Region, Ri Bhoi District to support his cause who then highlighted his allegation of ostracizing him in the floor of The Shillong Press Club and which was published in almost all the dailies of the State.
The two organizations also lodged an FIR against MDS in Umsning OP under Nongpoh Police Station on the basis of allegation levied by Shadap.
In order to acquire first hand information on the incident, the scribe visited Mawrong Village under Nongpoh Police Station as to inquire from the local residents and the members of the MDS and also to inspect the residence of Shadap which was allegedly dismantled by the villagers on ground of witchcraft.
Contrary to the allegations levied by Shadap against the MDS, the house was found to be intact. Talking to this scribe, MDS rangbah shnong LM Syiem said, “We have only suspended Shadap as he has been boycotting all social events/incidents.
He belonged to a BPL family and we recommended IAY scheme for his family but after the funds was released to him (Shadap) he misappropriated the funds by not constructing the house under IAY schemes.
Meanwhile, RBYF Umsning Circle president P Kylla accompanied by RBYF 12 Shnong Circle Secretary Ialam Lamarai questioned on the involvement of the two leading organizations viz., HNYF Northern Region Ri Bhoi District and CSWO (Agnes) in the matter by blindly supporting Shadap without doing any verification of his allegations against the MDS.
They also urged the two organizations to withdraw the FIR lodged against MDS as the allegation levied by Shadap holds no ground.
The RBYF leader warned of taking stringent actions against Shadap if he failed to resolve the matter with the MDS at the earliest and also to tender a public apology in the same floor where he tarnished the image of the MDS and the villagers.
