AICC approves creation of new DCC

 SHILLONG: AICC president Sonia Gandhi has accorded her approval to the creation of four new District Congress Committees (DCC) in the State.

In a statement issued here on Monday, MPCC president DD Lapang informed that this was necessitated due to the creation of new administrative districts in the State.

Lapang informed that the appointment of the following senior Party functionaries as presidents of the District Congress Committees has also been approved.

“This exercise has been

undertaken to further strengthen the Party organization and to also coordinate Party activities and programs,” he said.

The newly appointed president of the various District Congress Committees (DCCs) are Cherak W Momin (North Garo Hills DCC), Winnerson D Sangma (South West Garo Hills), Diverland Lyngdoh (South West Khasi Hills), Shitlang Pale (East Jaintia Hills), Ashutosh B Marak (East Garo Hills), Dr Eureka P Lyngdoh (West Khasi Hills) and Surosh R Marak (South Garo Hills).
