SHILLONG: The two minor sisters from Ampati, who were allegedly raped by SI Narul Islam, were admitted in schools in South West Garo Hills district thanks to the initiative of the district administration.
While the elder girl was admitted in Class 9, the younger one was admitted in Class 6 in separate schools.
They were school drop outs as the family could not afford their education.
South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Ram Singh said that the district administration would ensure that the victims do not face any discrimination in the schools.
“We have instructed the school authorities to see that the victims are not neglected since they were once school drop outs,” Singh said.
