SHILLONG: Four brilliant goals by Maitshaphrang Nengnong saw Royal Wahingdoh FC ease past Langsning FC 5-2 in the opening match of the 2013 U-19 Shillong Premier League on Saturday at the JN Stadium, Polo.

Wasting no time, the junior Royals side attacked from the very start before finding a sixth minute goal through Nengnong.

Six minutes later, the forward collected a rebound off Langsning’s keeper inside the box before firing the ball into the net.

However, Langsning’s Lenningstar narrowed the lead for his side in the 25th minute after earning a penalty.

RWFC goalkeeper Kenio got a hand to Lenningstar’s right-footed shot, but was unable to make a save.

Six minutes later, Langsning’s Damehun Syih missed an open goal-scoring opportunity but redeemed himself a minute later with an equaliser following a corner.

Having fought to restore parity at 2-2, Langsning fell behind again after Khangmiki helped Wahingdoh go 3-2 up after sending in a scorcher in the 34th minute.

Then, a minute after half time, Nengnong secured his hat-trick, paving the way for what looked to be a near certain victory.

Nengnong was in the middle of the action again in the 88th minute, earning possession and neatly placing the ball past the keeper to seal the fate of the match.

The next match will be played on Monday between Mawlai SC and Malki SC at 4:00pm.
