SHILLONG: AICC general secretary in charge Meghalaya, Mukul Wasnik has neither confirmed nor denied the report that the party has offered its former legislator RG Lyngdoh, the opportunity to contest the upcoming 2014 Lok Sabha poll from the Congress.
“This is not the forum where the issues of the party candidate are being discussed,” Wasnik said while speaking after the MPCC Executive Committee meeting here on Thursday.
The AICC general secretary in charge Meghalaya also declined to comment if the party would repose its faith on the sitting Congress MP from Shillong constituency Vincent H Pala.
“We are looking to enroll more members to the party,” Wasnik said while adding that they would be looking to win both the Lok Sabha seats from the State.
Meanwhile, he said that they have also impressed that the meeting of the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), District Congress Committee (DCC) and Block Congress Committee (BCC) should be held periodically.
