SHILLONG: The CSWO has alleged that the State Government is not clear about the land documents even though they have already acquired 370 hectares of land in New Shillong Township.

CSWO president Agnes Kharshiing on Sunday said that one of the land owners, Gracibon Kharsohtun whose 5.25 hectares of land was acquired had complained to the CSWO that her land has been sold off to the urban affairs department without her knowledge.

“After many RTI’s there is still no trace of the land documents of any one except Power of Attorney papers which cannot be land documents,” CSWO leader Agnes Kharshiing said in a press release here on Sunday.

According to Kharshiing, the amount that Government has spent on land acquisition for 370 hectares is 10 crore.

The CSWO leader asserted that the only land documents available with the Government are forged documents of Unikey Kharkongor and Nearly Kharkongor which was not verified by a sub Registrar, as is required when a deed is to be registered, and appear to be forged and incomplete.
