Bodies recovered

lOn June 17, Police recovered one unidentified decomposed male body from Dulongnar (RB).

lOn June 15 at around 2 pm, one unidentified male body was recovered from Umshong River (EJH).

lOn June 7 at around 9:30 am, one unidentified male body was recovered from Polo Super Market, Shillong.

lPolice recovered an unidentified highly decomposed male body from a gorge in Dalongnar under Nongpoh Police Station on Monday morning. The body was spotted by pedestrians due to the emission of foul odour and they reported the matter to police. According to police, the body bears resemblance of a tribal male around 40 years of age and the cause of death could be probably due to strangulation as they found plastic ropes measuring around 2 meters tied around his neck. The body was pulled out of the gorge and taken to Civil Hospital Nongpoh for post mortem. Police said that the body will be preserved for three days only as it was highly decomposed and unfit for necessary identification.

Murder attempt

On May 16, one Marius Lamare (19) attempted to murder one Roni Umbah at Lamalong village (RB). Police arrested the accused. Matter is under enquiry.

Fraud

One Overland Thabah, Headman of Laitpynther village (EKH), lodged a complaint at Laban PS that on June 13, one Welfred Langstieh fraudulently withdrew Rs. 2 lakh under the Village Rural Sanitation Scheme from Rural Bank, Mawngap Branch (EKH).

Rape and molestation

lOn June 7 at around 10.30 pm, one Banskhem Warbah raped one girl (18) at Mawlai Mawroh.

lOn May 5, one Bitin Bhuria (30) molested one minor girl (16) at MIDC Complex, Umiam (RB). Police arrested the accused person. Matter is under enquiry.
