SHILLONG: The Research Scholars Forum of Chandra Mohan Jha University has urged the Visitor, Governor RS Mooshahary and Chancellor Chandra Mohan Jha to bring the ongoing tussle to an end through effective discussions.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Research Scholars Forum of Chandra Mohan Jha University spokesperson Taiz Uddin Ahmed said that both visitor and chancellor should bring an end to the tussle for the greater interest of the student community.

The forum requested the Visitor and the CMJU authority, “who are equally responsible for the establishment and running the university, to make arrangements for issuing certificates to scholars who are declared as eligible to be awarded with Ph.D degrees already notified by the CMJU.”

The forum also wants the Chief Minister to intervene into the ongoing controversy and direct the authorities to allow the university to conduct regular classes again.
