Barika Khyriem, assistant professor in the department of Linguistics, NEHU has been awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy from NEHU for her thesis titled ‘A Comparitive study of some regional dialects of Khasi language: a lexical and phonological study’, under the supervision of Prof Jaunita War. She is the daughter of (L) W Manners and (L) G Khyriem and wife of PP Rynghang.
