Sohra girl brings laurel

 SHILLONG: Winsaphisha Diengdoh of Rama Krishna Mission Higher Secondary School, Cherrapunjee brought laurel to the State by becoming the only student from the State to meet the President on March earlier this year after being selected for the INSPIRE Award 2011.

Daughter of Borsha Sing Dkhar and Ilapynsuk Diengdoh of Maraikaphon, Diengdoh was ranked first among the State entries in the project competition on innovation in Science pursuit research 2011, exhibited on ‘Application of Mathematics in our lives.’

The ‘Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research’ (INSPIRE) is an innovative programme sponsored and managed by the Department of Science & Technology for attraction of talent to Science.

14-year-old Diengdoh is currently studying in Class IX in Rama Krishna Mission Higher Secondary School. She was 12-years-old when she topped the list in 2011 and got selected for the INSPIRE award 2011.
