SHILLONG: In an unparliamentarian practice, Laban-Mawprem MDC Sanbor Shullai (NCP) requested KHADC Deputy Chairman Kennedy Khyriem to include his name in the list of members who would participate in the general discussion on the budget on Friday.
Shullai made this request after the Deputy Chairman pointed out that the name of Mairang MDC Rasor Rani (Congress) should be included in the list since his name was left out owing to some glitches.
After this announcement, Shullai pleaded before the Chairman if his name could be included in the list since he wished to participate in the discussion.
The Deputy Chairman however dismissed the plea arguing that members who wished to participate in the discussion had to submit their names in advance.
Langrin MDC Manstudy Nongrem (Congress) suggested that Shullai be allowed to participate in the discussion in his place, but the Deputy Chairman still refused saying that Nongrem should have made the offer in writing earlier.
