New Delhi: The annual meeting of the North East Congress Coordination Committee (NECCC), will be held in Shillong next month, the NECCC chairman, D D Lapang informed on Saturday.

Lapang met the AICC leader Mrs Ambika Soni and requested her to appoint advisors to the NECCC. “They will be an important link between the region and AICC,” he, said before leaving for Shillong.

Soni, who was once in-charge of Meghalaya, urged Lapang to make the party stronger in all the eight Northeastern states. Congress should be ruling party in all the states, she said.

She also told Lapang that the NECCC should get ready for polls in Mizoram, which is few months away.
