TURA: The Garo Students Union (GSU), Western Zone (North) has submitted a letter to the Chief Secretary, Government of Meghalaya requesting the revocation of the transfer order of I G Momin, Sub-divisional School Education Officer, Dadenggre.

In the letter dated 20th June, 2013 the union claimed that the transfer was tried with some selfish motives by some selfish individuals. The union informed that the concerned officer joined her office only on 4th April, 2013 and was sincere and dedicated to her duties.

“In the past we have seen irregularity in office attendance by the past posted officers. They only worked once in a week but since the posting of I G Momin we saw a complete change in the workings of the office,” the union stated in a release.

Meanwhile, the GSU has also placed a request to revoke the transfer order of A G Momin an MCS Officer who is currently posted as the BDO of Selsella Development Block.

The union stated that the said BDO who joined his duty on 4th February, 2013 was being transferred after serving for just four months the reason for which remained a mystery to the public. It further informed that a group of people from Selsella sensing his transfer had earlier submitted a written memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills with the clear intention of retaining him to the post which went in vain.

Earlier, the union had also held a public meeting which found the said BDO to be diligent and attentive towards the needs of the common laymen under Selsella Development Block.
