Girl breaks silence over rape

 SHILLONG: In yet another case of rape of a minor by a policeman, a girl claimed that she was raped by a police constable PG Momin, who is her stepfather during the period between 2004 and February 2013 ever since she was 12 years old.

Breaking the silence after many years, the girl, now 21 years old alleged that she was repeatedly raped by her stepfather and became pregnant at the age of 12.

The girl, who is a student and staying with her mother and her 9-year old child, alleged that till date Momin comes to her house often and assaults her besides threatening her not to leak the information.

An FIR was filed by CSWO president Agnes Kharshiing on behalf of the girl against the rape accused on Monday. Police on the other hand said that investigation is on to nab the perpetrator.
