SHILLONG: Malki were unable to hold on to an early lead after Rangdajied came back in style to fashion an easy 7-1 win in their U-19 Shillong Premiere League match at the JN Stadium here on Friday.

Michael Kurbah who scored a hat trick was the star for Rangdajied. The win places Rangdajied at the top spot along with Nangkiew Irat. Both teams have 13 points in their kitty. However, with Nangkiew Irat taking on Royal Wahingdoh on Saturday, any chance of retaining the top spot is virtually nil for Rangdajied.

The winners of the day had an early scare when Blessing Pamthied scored in the 8th minute to give Malki the lead. However, poor defending on Malki’s part saw the favourites take advantage scoring three goals by the end of the first half.

Kurbah scored in the 41st, 52nd and 82nd minutes while Gameliel pumped in two in the 43rd and 47th to take Rangdajied home. Donborlang (33″) and Shembiangpat (89″) were the other contributors.

Meanwhile the winners of the match between Royal Wahingdoh and Nangkiew Irat on Saturday will go on to win the championship.
