NONGSTOIN: Representatives from 8 Polling Stations (KHADC) expressed their desire to be included in Mawkyrwat AC from Pariong AC in the upcoming MDC Election.

Village representatives from Umdohlun, Mawjarain, Rangblang Sohsyniang, Pydenkseh, Myriem, Rangblang Pombriew, Mawsaw and Rangdkhiew in a meeting unanimously decided to appeal for their inclusion to Mawkyrwat AC in South West Khasi Hills. These villages are currently under Pariong AC in West Khasi Hills. The representatives consisting of headmen of the villages felt it was confusing for the local residents of the area as in the Assembly Elections and MP Elections, they came under Mawkyrwat AC in South West Khasi Hills while in the MDC election they were included in Pariong AC of West Khasi Hills.

They appealed that these villages were in South West Khasi Hills and should hence be included in Mawkyrwat AC and not in Pariong AC of West Khasi Hills.

They also denounced the MDCs, who were protesting against delimitation of the MDC constituencies. They urged them to consider the problems of the people and not simply their own vested interests.
