Rape/ assault case

A labourer Minhar Ali, an accused in the attempted rape case at Mother Angela Secondary School, Tura, on June 21, 2013, who was assaulted by a mob, succumbed to his injuries at GMC Hospital, Guwahati on July 1.

Case filed

On June 30 around 7.15 pm, one motorcycle (ML-10-2019) ridden by one Raj Kumar Shah (28) knocked down Horesh Lyngdoh (56 yrs) at Golf Link, Shillong. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital. A criminal case has been registered in this connection.

Theft

On June 29 around 1 am, two persons Teibanlin Jahnoh and Wanjob Rynniaw attempted to commit theft at the residence of Breswel Paliar (45) at PWD Quarters, Riangdo. Police arrested the accused persons.

On June 28 night, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-08C-7031) belonging to Hridoy Barman from Hawakhana, Tura.

On June 26 night, unknown miscreants broke into the shop of Agatha Phawa at Lumpyrtuh-Mihmyntdu, Jowai and stole twenty automobile batteries valued around rupees one lakh.

Pickpocket nabbed

On June 28 around 1.30 pm, one Akash Chettri was caught red handed while he was attempting to steal a purse from Sawdamut Kharbuki at Police Bazar, Shillong.

Body recovered

On June 28, one unidentified decomposed male body (35/40 years) was recovered from the bank of Umsur River under Borsora outpost. Cadaver was sent to CHC Mawkyrwat for Postmortem examination.

Threat case

On June 20, one Donkupar Royne threatened Charning Mylliemumlong at Mawlai Iawrynghep, Shillong with dire consequences. Police have arrested the accused.

Vandalism

On June 19 around 3.30 pm, two persons, Broming Diengngan and Eming Diengngan armed with gun, set fire to one grocery shop belonging to Noris Nongbri at Pyndengshallang Kuti Bazar. Police arrested one of the accused Broming Diengngan.
