18 RBYF men secure bail

 SHILLONG/NONGPOH: 18 Ri Bhoi Youth Federation (RBYF) members, who were arrested on Monday for trespassing into a government office (MUDA) at Byrnihat were granted bail on Wednesday.

The RBYF members were produced before the court for the second time on Wednesday. Police on Tuesday had produced the arrested RBYF members. The magistrate released them on bail on Wednesday

The RBYF members were arrested by the Ri Bhoi Police for putting the MUDA’s office at Byrnihat under lock and key. Police booked them under the section 124 (a), 443, 341 and 34 under IPC.

The 18 activists were later felicitated by the RBYF leaders in Nongpoh.

“The RBYF will keep their stand alive and will keep fighting for the justice of the two casual labours of the MUDA – Hundalin Warjri and SubitaLapang, whose services were terminated on January this year,” RBYF Central Body Vice President Bipul Thangkhiew.

The organization also strongly immediate withdrawal of the FIR lodged by the MUDA authority against its president BB Makdoh and others.
