Programme

lThe Bureau of Parliamentary Studies and Training and Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Secretariat is conducting a two day orientation programme for working journalists of Meghalaya on July 4-5 at MLA Hostel, Oakland.

lShillong Mukul Sangha observed Bishnu Rabha Divas at the Srimanta Sankardeva Cultural Centre on June 30 with a daylong programme.

Meeting

Shillong Socio-Cultural Assamese Students Association will hold its general meeting on July 7 at Asom Kristi Kendra at 2 pm.

Workshop

A week long workshop on Thang-ta (the primitive form of martial-art of Manipur) hosted by the Gitanjali Dance Academy, Bishnupur concluded last week on June 29. It was organised in collaboration with ICCR, Shillong, under the guidance of Asharani Devi, daughter of Padmashri Awardee Guru G. Gourakishor Sharma and an ace Thang-ta artiste.

General meeting

The Ieng Rasong Sports Social and Cultural Club will organise its general council meeting on July 17 at Shillong Club, residential quarters at 2pm. The club will also observe the death anniversary of Khasi legendary Tirot Sing Syiem.

Due to the screening of the MBBS candidates on July 5, Civil Hospital will remain closed on this particular day only for the outdoor patients except emergency cases.
