Assault

Threat case
On July 2 at around 11.30 pm, unidentified miscreants went to Mega Cashew Pvt. Ltd., Byrnihat (RB), threatened the labourers with dire consequences and also snatched away money from them. Later, Police arrested two persons, Bijay Boro and Modi Sangma.

Rape
On July 1 at around 1.30 am, one Bangladeshi national, Anizur raped a lady (29) at the residence of Sujin Sangma at Nongkriah (EKH) and fled. In this connection, Police arrested Sujin Sangma.
Extortion
One Enrico D. Passi lodged a complaint that on July 1 at around 1 pm, Helping Phawa, ex-MDC claiming to be President of JHTOA, extorted Rs. 100 per truck at Tuber Tahkhniang (EJH). Again on the same day, a complaint was lodged by one GS Sedhi that Helping Phawa detained his truck at Tuber (EJH).
Theft
One Anbur Singh lodged a complaint that on July 1 at around 2 pm, Pradyun Deb Barman snatched Rs. 30,000 at Hotel Centre Point, Police Bazar.
