tanagar: Altogether 90 constables on Monday joined the ITBP force, after successful completion of 24 weeks of extremely hard basic training programmes at Recruit Training Centre (RTC), Kimin, about 55 km from here, under the Papum Pare district.
The passing out parade and attestation ceremony of this 122 batches of RTC, Kimin, was completed under the guidance of able instructors, who have toiled hard to mould the trainees into complete soldiers by imparting training on various activities.
The recruits were also administered the professional oath of allegiance to the Constitution of India under the aegis of National tri-colours and Force flag on the occasion.
In his address, DIG Raj Kishor Shah, who is the head of this maiden institute of the force in the North East region, said the ITBP is playing a significant role in defending the external and the internal security.
The tasks assigned to the force by the government of India are being performed with sincerity and dedication, he said, adding during the recentl natural disaster in Kedernath and Badrinath, the ITBP Himveers rescued thousands and saved precious lives without caring for their own casualties.
He appealed to the new recruits to be always ready for service.
The DIG also handed over prizes to the best trainees in various disciplines. They were – Ramesh Kumar (overall best trainee), Sunil Kumar (Firing), Gurpreet Singh (physical), Ravi Dutt (weapon) and Praveen Kumar (drill).
The passing out parade was concluded with thrilling physical training and weapon demonstration and melodious tunes displayed by a pipe band group from Assam Police. (UNI)
