ACCIDENTS ACROSS STATE

lKarita Sangma (25) and Tengkhamchi Sangma (5) both passengers travelling in an autorickshaw heading towards Williamnagar sustained injuries when the vehicle overturned at Rongab under Samanda Block, East Garo Hills. Karita Sangma and Tengkhamchi Sangma were shifted to Williamnagar Civil Hospital. The incident happened on on Monday afternoon.

lA Maruti 800 local taxi (MLO5H – 3036) travelling towards Upper Shillong was hit on the left side by another Maruti 800 (MLO5D – 6076) coming from the opposite direction near Thangkhiew Petrol Pump at 4th Mile, Upper Shillong. Sisilia Dohkrut (27), Gidian Dohkrut (6), Raj Binder Singh (37) and Anjela Sohtun (28) were injured and shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital. The incident happened on Sunday.

lFour people sustained injuries when the Maruti Zen they were travelling on from Manipur coming towards Shillong was hit by a truck which was trying to overtake on a turning at Umsamlem under Umsning Block, Ri Bhoi District on Sunday. Mary Paite (35), Mynthang Paite (19), L. Kam Khanson (36) and Lianding Paite (19) were injured and shifted to Umsning C.H.C. The truck fled from the scene after the collision.

In all the above cases, the 108 Emergency Service Ambulance based at the respective locations helped in shifting the injured to various hospitals.
