Boost to local music talents

SHILLONG: An independent service production company, Sound Tree Media, working on the prospect of employing the power of music for social change and its impact in the North East is currently hunting for budding young talents from the rock capital of India.

Sound Tree Media CEO Ashutosh Bhattacharya talking about the initiative said that there is a lot of untapped talent in the North East and the group wants to be instrumental in bringing them to the forefront.

The group is also planning to come up with a satellite station either in Guwahati or Shillong and it will give the much needed push to the local budding talents in the field of music.

He also said that though Meghalaya is considered to be a rock capital of the country, but the youths of the State till date have not got any opportunity to exhibit their talent at the national platform.

The group is also keen on promoting local youths who are more into the traditional music of the State.

It may be mentioned that Sound Tree Media, recently associated with Meghalaya AIDS Control Society and Lelangki, in the music talent hunt, Meghalaya Icon 2013 which was a success.
