Father’s appeal for ‘missing’ son

Imphal: A father has appealed to the people to help him trace his 13-year old son who went missing from Basikhong area in Imphal East district of Manipur.

M Ibotomba told reporters on Monday that his son, Mutum Nongpoknganba, left his house at Basikhong area on the outskirts of Imphal at around 5.30 a.m. of July 4 for a morning walk.When he did not return till 7 a.m. of that day, he along with local residents launched a massive search for his son but they could not find the boy.

A student of class four at nearby Standard Robert School, Nongpoknganba never left his house for long hours, Ibotomba said appealing to the general public to inform him or nearby police station if anybody found his son.

Ibotomba has lodged a complaint with nearby Irilbung police station in Imphal East district. Police said they would investigate whether the boy was picked up by any militant outfit to recruit him in their ranks.(PTI)
