JOWAI: East Jaintia Hills Police on Thursday arrested one Khiat Ymbon (35) of Mukhap village for allegedly stealing Rs. 10 lakh from the house of one Ms. Sai Siangshai of Musniang village in East Jaintia Hills on Wednesday.
The accused, who has been staying in Ms Siangshai’s house for last one and half years as a servant, fled from the scene after committing the crime.
Police later arrested Ymbon from a place near Tuber-Shohshrieh village while he was travelling in a vehicle. Rs. 9.5 lakh was recovered from him.
