NONGPOH: Following a heated argument over a trivial matter, a man stabbed his colleague, thereby critically injuring him at a village under Nongpoh PS late last night.
According to police sources, the incident occurred at Umwiehkhlieh when the accused, identified as Stipkulang Rani (28) and the victim identified as Donbor Rynjah (26) both from the same village Umwiehkhlieh exchanged strong words between themselves in the vehicle in which they were travelling while they were returning from their work place at Umsohlait, following which, Rani stabbed Rynjah in his abdomen and fled the scene.
Local residents heard Rynjah cries informed Umsning OP. Rani was arrested within a couple of hours. The accused was produced in the court at Nongpoh and remanded to 3 days police custody.
Notably, Rynjah is an active member of the HNYF Mawhati Unit.
