Training prog on risk management

 NONGSTOIN: A three day Sensitization cum Training Programme on disaster risk management for the District and Block Official which started from July 9, concluded on Thursday at the DC’s Multipurpose Hall.

The programme was organized by the District Administration of South West Khasi Hills, where the Additional Deputy Commissioner K L Nongbri attended as the chief guest.

The programme was attended by officials drawn out from different government offices based at Mawkyrwat.

Sessions are being scheduled for the three days on various related topics with lectures delivered by different Resource Persons which included expert from MATI, Scientists from North East Space Application Center Umiam and professional expert from Civil Defense.

During these three days, various related topics such as disaster risk intervention, damage assessment, role of satellite application for cyclone and thunder storm forecasting, hazard risk vulnerability analysis, operational functioning of emergency operation centre, search and rescue techniques, first aid demonstration and mock drill were touched and trained by the resource persons.
