SHILLONG: The local court on Tuesday granted bail to sub inspector Transilla Momin, her husband head constable Lebithastin Marak and their son Arjuniush Momin who were arrested for allegedly assaulting a domestic help, who is also a minor, at CID Quarter, Bishnupur here on June 19.

The legal counsel of the accused, Nitin Khera, said that the three have been granted bail under ‘strict conditions’.

While maintaining that his client is innocent, the lawyer said the content of the FIR filed against the trio is under question.

Khera claimed that the said victim is not a minor but a 19-year-old girl. The legal counsel said that the real age of the girl can also be ascertained from a medical certificate from Nazareth hospital where she had undergone treatment in 2012.

The lawyer also said that the victim is not a domestic help but a relative of the accused.
