KHADC Delimitation Bill condemned

 SHILLONG: The Synjuk Ki Nongsynshar Shnong, Dong Border under Hima Maharam on Tuesday condemned the Delimitation Bill passed by the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) recently after which five villages previously falling under Langrin constituency have now been attached to Mawsynram constituency.

Terming the passage of the Bill as a ‘selfish’ act, president of the Synjuk, Blossding W Wanniang, said the Bill was passed with some hidden motive without taking into consideration the opinion of the local residents.

The five villages under Langrin which now fall under Mawsynram are – Tlongpliang, Raibah, Nongthymmai Raidewsaw, Mawlangroh and Domskhen.

Wanniang also condemned the KHADC for ignoring the memorandum submitted on June 28 by a delegation of Rangbah Shnong falling under the Synjuk which included as many as 35 Dorbar Shnong.
