JOWAI: NGOs in Jaintia Hills comprising of the AJYWO-Central Governing Body, the KSU-JHDU, FKJGP-Khlierhiat Circle and HNYF-Eastern Region has strongly opposed the demand made by the Hynniewtrep National People Front (HNPF) to transfer the East Jaintia Hills Deputy Superintendent of Police, WS Muksor and the In charge of the Lumshnong Anti-dacoity camp.

“The demand made by the HNPF is baseless and has no genuine ground”, a release issued here stated. “WS Muksor is one of the most efficient and capable Police officer who served the newly created District”, the released added. The HNPF has alleged that the Dy. SP has been working as the Dy. SP East Jaintia Hills for quite sometime and he should be transferred to another place.

However, the KSU- Jaintia hills, AJYWO, HNYF-ER and the FKJGP Khliehriat Circle informed that Muksor has been posted at Khliehriat for only less than a year. He has joined as the Dy, SP in Khliehriat on August last year.

While condemning the 15 days deadline set by the HNPF to remove the police officers from Khliehriat, the released stated, “We urge the Minister In charge Home Department, Roshan Warjri and also the Director General of Police of Meghalaya, Peter James Pyngrope Hanaman not to entertain such demands.”
