NONGSTOIN: More than 30 shops were gutted in a major fire that broke out at the Riangdo market near Mawshynrut at around 8.45 pm on Thursday. Eye witnesses claimed that the fire first started from a shop owned by one Bah Iar. Even though the lone fire service vehicle in the area soon jumped into action, it could not do much to save the shops. BSC CC and JV, a construction firm involved in a road project in the area pitched in with water tankers to help the firemen.
