Mukul for promoting cultural tourism

 JOWAI: Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma who was at Tuberkmai Shnong in East Jaintia Hills on Sunday to witness the Behdeinkhlam Festival said the event, which is unique to Jaintia Hills and the State, can give a boost to cultural tourism in Meghalaya.

“This festival showcases our rich cultural tradition”, he said while congratulating the Sein Raij Tuber for organising the festival.

The Chief Minister said the Bedeinkhlam Festival has been an event which of late has attracted people from outside the State thus paving the path for promoting cultural tourism.

“It will be the endeavour of the government to link up various cultural festivals in a manner so as to promote cultural tourism in the State. The same can also boost the economic condition of the people,” Dr Sangma said.
