SHILLONG: The ANVC (B) has once again extended an invitation to the Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) commander-in-chief Sohan D Shira to be a part of the ongoing truce agreement with the State and the Central Government for the sake of lasting peace in Garo Hills.

ANVC (B) leader Rimpu Marak while extending the invitation on Monday also expressed concern over the statement of Sohan D Shira where he threatened to avenge the recent killings of their cadres.

“We do not want our comrades led by Sohan to be left out of the benefits that are coming our way for the best of our people and the area we want them to be part of the settlement, equally sharing our platform, benefits and status in re-building our society,” Marak said.

He said that the situation in Garo Hills is deteriorating day by day and if immediate constructive steps are not taken to bridge up the gap than things are sure to become far worse in a few months’ time.
